Crepe Myrtles That We Carry 2011

We are in the thick of summer, the days are longer, the temperatures are high and many days are spent outside in the pool or by the grill. Aside from the heat and summer fun, one thing comes to mind when I think of summer, that is, one plant that always stands out in my mind during the summer months is the Crepe Myrtle. It would not be summer in the south if you did not see the Crepe Myrtles in full bloom.

Here at Fairview Garden Center, we carry a large selection of Crepe Myrtles, consisting of different sizes, shapes and colors to choose from. Our Crepe Myrtles range in size from one gallon trees up to twenty-five gallon trees. Below is a list of the different varieties of Crepe Myrtles that our garden center carries along with a short description about each plant.

	Acoma Has a white bloom, grows to about fifteen feet tall. It has an upright shape and blooms from July to September.
	Catawba This early bloomer has a rich purple bloom. It grows to about fifteen feet tall and has a vase shape. It blooms from June to August.
	Hopi A medium-sized Crepe Myrtle which gets no bigger than eight feet tall. It has a shrub-like appearance and produces light pink flowers. It will bloom June to September.
	Tonto Another medium-sized variety that stays between eight to ten feet in height. Embellished with maroon blooms, this tree will bloom from June to September. It also makes a nice screen row.
