Get Ready for Fall!

Nothing says “fall” like the sweet aroma of warm apple cider, the dance of the falling leaves as they’re changing color or the gradual rush of cool, crisp air settling in. This season you can update your fall decorating by capturing the warmth of the season to reflect the changing weather.

Bring the outdoors inside by creating decorative table centerpieces, mantle displays and door wreaths by using materials from your own backyard. A glance outside at the changing leaves is all the inspiration you need to use rusty reds, warm browns, deep mauves, vibrant yellows, and of course, the traditional orange pumpkins and other fall veggies.

 

Easy Decorating Ideas

You can create a cozy, autumn window display by gathering and arranging twigs, acorns or seasonal houseplants like orchids and succulents.

You can use any natural item in fall decorating. Colorful maple and oak leaves, surrounded by miniature pumpkins, gourdes and berries make a warm and earthy centerpiece.

Line your front steps with alternating mums in different colors.

If you’re more ambitious, start by carving a large pumpkin using your favorite stencils as a pattern, then add a scented autumn candle inside.

Gather pinecones and attach them to a grapevine wreath and tie them together with red and orange berries.

Update your garden or window boxes by introducing evergreens and cold weather-tolerant flowers such as mums and pansies.

A splash of color, a tad of texture, and a few simple tips and techniques is all it takes to make this fall season one to remember.
