Live Wreaths & Roping: Available at Fairview after Thanksgiving!

Nothing says welcome like a fresh holiday wreath! Wreaths and roping, made from live plant material, have been a holiday tradition for many years. With the advent of newer, artificial materials, the use of fresh decorations have declined over the years. Although, for those who remember the fresh scent and cool feel of live greenery from their childhood days, nothing but the real thing will do.

Decorations of fresh greenery, adorned with berries and holly that are put together by hand (and are grown/cut locally) are hard to match. Many combinations are available; whether you prefer a simple wreath with a bow, decorated with ornaments, or a more rustic approach embellished with pinecones, live wreaths and roping add a special touch to any holiday decor.

It should be noted that live materials are best when used outdoors. The temperatures inside are too dry and warm to be conducive for a long life. In addition, there are special sealants available that help “lock in” the moisture of live greenery, thus lengthening their outdoor life expectancy; many are pretreated before purchasing. For indoors, artificial decorations work best.

Ideas for Live Decorations:

Drape roping around doorways, over fences, porch railings and mailboxes.
Hang wreaths or swags on doors, fences and arbors.
For splashes of color, add bows, berries, fruits, lights, or other ornaments to your decorations... Get Creative!
