New To Our Greenhouses 2011

Ready to shake that winter-induced cabin fever? Are you feeling the spring anticipation that shows up about this time every year? Here at Fairview we most certainly are and we invite you to usher in the new season with us and our new found treasures. Starting this spring, we are introducing over 70 annual plant varieties that will be new to our greenhouses. Among all these newcomers, several stand out as absolute jaw droppers and we can’t wait to tell you all about them!

Blackberry Punch Superbell
This prolific bloomer features a bright pink outer lip with a deep blackberry-toned center. Perfect for container gardening and hanging baskets, this new million bell is guaranteed to make a bold statement in your landscape. Blackberry Punch thrives in hot tropical environments with proper care. As the spring growing season warms up, Blackberry Punch will be there to say “Bring on the heat.”

Coralberry Punch Superbell
Features a vibrant coral-toned outer lip with an almost black center (pictured above). This trailing plant provides gorgeous color throughout the spring and summer growing seasons and is a great addition to any container or hanging basket.

Black Velvet Petunia
Make way for the introduction of the world’s first true black petunia. This plant is sophisticated, cutting edge and looks great in brightly colored containers that give the petunia a ‘back lit’ appearance. Gorgeous jet black blooms provide color from spring through summer months. Look for Black Velvet to be a hot item starting this spring.

Phantom Petunia
Phantom is a new petunia that will certainly leave you seeing stars. It features a deep black base color with a vibrant yellow star-shaped center. A perfect candidate for landscapes, containers and hanging baskets, Phantom is a petunia that keeps on pleasing.

Pinstripe Petunia
If it’s different you want, then different is what you will get with the new Pinstripe Petunia. This petunia is the perfect treasure for those looking for something unique and special. It’s stylish blooms feature a deep violet (almost black) base color with creamy white star-shaped centers. Pinstripe’s mounding and trailing habit make it a wonderful candidate for hanging baskets, containers and even mass plantings in the landscape.

Mojito Elephant Ear
All we can say is WOW! If there is one plant that draws your eye it’s the Mojito elephant ear. Known for it’s gorgeous multicolored and speckled foliage, Mojito can grow about three to four feet in a single season. It’s vase-like growth habit makes it a wonderful candidate for container centerpieces or as a focal point in the landscape. Mojito enjoys being planted in rather moist soil and makes a wonderful addition to pond or water garden settings. This year Mojito is sure to give your garden the pizzazz it’s been looking for.
