Fairview's Strange Plant Collection 2009

Fairview has always been known for having different and unusual plants, some may even say hard-to-find plants. Plants are our passion at Fairview and as we travel and visit different places, we are constantly looking for plants that are interesting and new to us. Some may just be a different and unusual variety of summertime favorites while others are just so eye-catching and downright cool! We carry hundreds of different plants in our greenhouses and nursery, but here we focus on a few special plants that can be found this spring and summer (2009) in our greenhouse. 	Euphorbia ‘Diamond Frost’ Diamond Frost is a wonderful plant to use in container gardening or window boxes. It grows twelve to eighteen inches tall and ten to twelve inches wide. It has tiny white flowers that add an airy look to your containers. It is also heat tolerant.
	Chocolate Cosmos This late spring through early fall bloomer has small chocolate-colored flowers. It adds a new color to your garden and with some imagination, a chocolate fragrance as well. It grows eighteen to twenty-four inches tall and twenty-four to thirty-six inches wide. It likes full sun.
	Variegated Tapioca Tapioca is a foliage plant that makes a wonderful addition to combination planters and works well as a specimen plant in bedding areas. It is grown for it’s maple leaf-shaped foliage. It can get quite large in the ground, but can be kept smaller by pruning. It grows four to five feet tall and thirty-six to forty-eight inches wide and can take full sun. Water regularly.
	Breynia Hawaiian Snow Bush Hawaiian snow bush is another one of our favorites! It is a multi-colored foliage plant that is pink, white and green. It is great in shade containers and also can be grown indoors as a houseplant (in a sunny spot). For the best color variegation, place in morning sun outside. This stunning plant will grow to about four feet tall and thirty-six to forty inches wide. >>Continue....
